Director of the 4.12 Leadership Training Program
When you think of graduation ceremonies, you probably think of photos, decorations, certificates, tears, and all things sentimental. While each of these things played a part in this year’s 4.12 Graduation Celebration, even more beautiful moments and lessons were shared that made this graduation unique from many others.
The testimonies celebrated that evening were shared by students who had come out of a school year full of uncertainty and fear. However, rather than focusing on these hardships and trials, they instead highlighted the Lord and His goodness in their lives.
Maddie, one of the graduates, shared this statement alongside her mentor during their testimony: “God has used both our mentoring relationship and the overall program to shape me into the person I am today and to show me how important having a relationship with Christ is.” Wow! I praise the Lord for the work He has done.
While graduation often feels like the end of a chapter, we consider it only the beginning for the 4.12 students. Maddie and the other graduates do not yet know how the Lord will continue to use their training for His glory and their growth. Now they have the opportunity to take what they have learned to now disciple and train other leaders for Christ!
I pray that the example of the 4.12 graduates encourages you and that you are reminded of the reasons the Lord has given you to celebrate as well. Although the past year has brought much suffering, let us also take a moment to remember the Lord and His goodness.
“I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, and on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, and shall sing of Your righteousness.” – Psalm 145:5-7
