Recently we had the Joy El Bible Adventure weekend, a Christian retreat weekend for students in grades 2 to 6. It was an exciting and powerful time of being with these young retreat campers.
I was overjoyed when I received an e-mail from one of our Bible Adventure leaders telling the story of one girl who came to our Christian retreat weekend. The Tuesday after the retreat she was at her weekly Bible Adventure program and told her listener “they did this thing called devotions, kind of like what we do at Bible Adventure” and quoted a long verse she had memorized over the weekend. She told the listener the weekend was her birthday gift!
The greatest gift this young lady received was the word of God hidden in her heart. The seed of the word was sown in her and many other children during that weekend, so let us pray and water that seed to see how God will be glorified.
I want to praise the Lord for the 205 campers God allowed us to minister to during that event. He provided us with the opportunity to sow the hope of Christ in this hopeless world.
