One of our alumni shared this acrostic poem she wrote summarizing her memories of camp!
Camper memories from the early years
Changing clothes several times during the
day and dressing up for evening chapel
A.M. flag raising before breakfast
Memorizing 300 verses to earn FREE camp
People who became friends for a week or
for a lifetime
Jerry Traister – the visionary man God used
to begin the camp ministry
Opportunity to share a testimony at the
campfire
Yummy food – “take all you want but eat
all you take”
Enthusiastic singing in chapel and on the
bus to and from swimming at JB
Lights out as “Taps” played across the
loudspeaker, then trying to sleep until
“Reveille” sounded in the morning
