Do you have a Bible?
Every child is important to us. Many campers are compliant and blend well with their group but some are challenges. I was riding the day camp bus with one of the “challenges”.
We had just left camp when he turned to me and asked, “Do you have a Bible”?
I asked, “Why?”
He responded, “I like it when people read the Bible to me”.
I was quite taken aback, but I wasn’t about to pass up this opportunity, so I grabbed my Bible. I read for the next 30 minutes of our bus ride together. We stopped to ask questions and initiate discussion. Several other campers leaned in to listen as well.
Praise God for hearts hungry for His Word. Ephesians 5:15-16 reminds us, “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”
As I reflect over the past eighteen months, I am reminded that our students have missed out on biblical instruction. For many of our students, Sunday School, Kids Klub, and Bible School were not available. It is so valuable to reintroduce students to God and His Word, the Bible. Bible Adventure and CIA programs are opening in person.
Share with a friend about the available opportunities their children have to grow in community and in God’s Word. Isaiah 55:11 says, “so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”
