Psalm 19:1 For the director of music. A psalm of David. “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.”
Psalm 19 explains just how much we see when we are outside. We see God’s glory declared. This is a significant part of the camp experience. Children are able to get outdoors and see God revealed. I often hear that they can really feel God’s presence at Joy El. I believe one of the reasons is because they are outside in God‘s creation.
I recently listened to a Breakpoint commentary attesting to the value of being outdoors. Click on the link to read or listen to this excellent information.
It just may cause you to want to send someone to summer camp, or to possibly serve for a week or more with us this summer!
