Marissa Shanebrook
Bible Adventure/CIA Equipping Coordinator
Marissa married her husband in 2013 and they had their first son in 2014. It was then that God redirected Marissa’s life back to him. She became a stay-at-home mom in 2015 and since 2016, she’s been passionately seeking God. She and her husband went on to have 2 more children. They prayerfully sought God for their 2nd son, and sought His mercy for their youngest, as she was born premature at 28 weeks. The difficult roads been laid before Marissa have been overlaid with mercy and grace as her faith continues to deepen for Christ.
Through this growth, Marissa started working in her church’s nursery and teaching Cubbies at AWANA. In this opportunity as Equipping Coordinator for Bible Adventure, she is excited by the opportunity to go outside the church setting to reach kids who may not have a full understanding of who Jesus Christ is and the work He has finished on the cross. Her prayer is that through the Great Commission to which we are called, souls are being saved by interaction with the Truth of the Gospel.
Marissa and her family live in Lewisberry, PA. She loves reading, specifically, studying the bible and historical Christian fiction. She also enjoys gardening, walking, and various activities with her kids, such as going to Pinchot, swimming, riding bikes, and board games.
A meaningful scripture to Marissa is Isaiah 40:28-31, with verse 31 reading, “but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
