Do not let anyone look down on you because you are young (1 Tim 4:12)
Recently Lisa Doyle, Joy El’s Released Time Regional Coordinator in York County had an opportunity to share about Joy El. God surprised her as she heard her son speak about Joy El and the impact it has had on him. I continue to be amazed at How God is at work. Below, Lisa tells more about this.
Chris read scripture and prayed at the community prayer time. (what a blessing as a mom to hear him speak so confidently) I purposely chose not to heavily promote Joy El b/c many speakers were talking long about who they were and what they do, and many of the people there already know me and my passion for Released Time).
I mentioned briefly that I coordinate Released Time and have sign up forms with me. When we were wrapping up the evening and people were invited to come share whatever they wanted, Chris took the microphone again, explained what RT is and how it is a supreme court decision, repeated “a supreme court decision” for emphasis. He then explained the 4.12 program extremely well and gave God thanks for how taking part in it has affected him to share his faith.
Oh my goodness. I wish you could have heard it. Mim, my friend and Joy El co-laborer, noted that when Chris talks about Joy El he says “we” as if he is a part of it. He shared things that I never knew that he was aware of about Released Time. He prayed that children would see the importance of obeying their parents and how when they do that they are also obeying God. He prayed for the teens that were there. I saw God work through him. You know I don’t share this to brag but to say thank you to God for allowing me to glimpse His power working through someone close to me. I see our (Joy El’s) mission accomplished in my son.
