Assistant Director of Bible Adventure
I had been reaching out since May to request a meeting to discuss the upcoming year of Bible Adventure. In late July, I was able to make contact with the secretary. At that time, she explained that their priorities were not with outside organizations. I was to call back later. In late August, I again spoke to the secretary who informed me that their focus was now to get the kids back in the buildings. I was to call back later. After the kids had been back to school for two weeks, I called again. She returned my call with a message that was a bit different as she explained that they are not open to outside visitors or organizations at this time. Knowing we had God and a law on our side that allows students to be released as long as we have parental permission, I rallied our teams to pray for the administration and to continue contacting the parents of their former students.”
I spoke to the secretary the next week and she relayed much of the same information that she had shared in her message. She was indignant that they would not allow this program to happen because of Covid. She was amazed that we would want to continue to even meet and consider this a necessary thing in the current climate of our circumstances. The secretary agreed that this was a conversation to be had with the superintendent, but she couldn’t promise that he would want to have that conversation. I asked her to relay my request to him and we would see what happens.
She called me the next day to inform me that the superintendent didn’t feel a meeting was necessary… because he has given us permission to move forward and proceed with planning Bible Adventure! She relayed to me that we can inform our teams to set up arrangements with the principals and make plans to start meeting with the kids.
The victory belongs to the Lord. He went into battle for me. I felt like the Red Sea had been parted and we were given solid ground to walk on into this coming year of ministry. Praise the Lord!
