“Now I’m really on fire!” “Jesus is still the answer for the next generation!” “We need to be aware of how the culture is shifting and be bold in testifying about how God is working in our lives!” These are just a few of the comments I heard last week. As school begins this year, we at Bible Adventure and CIA are celebrating and walking in faith that is fearless! Over 300 volunteers plus Joy El Staff gathered for our annual Kick Off Rally this past week. Our theme this year was Fearless Faith-based on I Cor. 16:13: “Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong.”
Aaron reminded us that fear is not an emotion, but a spirit based on 2 Tim. 1:7, Romans 8:15 and 1 Thess. 2:2. We as believers, have God’s spirit of power, love and discipline! In a climate where students and schools are constantly in the news, as believers we were equipped and commissioned to GO in boldness to disciple this generation of students who desperately need the hope of Jesus!
Our keynote speaker, Valerie Bell, CEO Emerita of Awana and author of “Resilient, Child Discipleship and the Fearless Future of the Church” inspired and challenged us to pour into this generation of students who will know Jesus personally and will be spiritually elastic with strength to bend and flex but not break against the weight of culture.
This week we are opening our Bible Adventure and CIA programs bringing the hope and truth of Jesus to public school students in 96 programs (with 3 other new programs waiting to open). Perhaps God is calling you to the largest mission field in the U.S.? Over 52 million students are part of the public school system and we are walking in fearless faith to share Christ with them.
