# 4 Parents Need a Break

Parenting is hard work. It is also very rewarding work.
Often parents will confide in me that they are sending all their children to camp for a week so that they can get some time off together. If is very clear that they love their children, but they just need a break.
I remember the first time all of our children were away at camp and Stephanie and I were able to get away, just the two of us. It was very refreshing and renewing.
Anyone who is a parent realizes the demands are non-stop. And sometimes they are more than normal. Perhaps you have experienced:
- A new baby
- Health issues in the family (yours or someone else’s)
- Homeschooling
- A grueling, non-stop, activity-filled schedule
- Sleepless nights
- Financial worries
Any of these things or countless others will wear down even the most heroic of parents over time. And mothers in particular are so used to putting others’ needs first, that they easily ignore their own needs, sometimes to the point of exhaustion.
Taking a break and getting some downtime can be very refreshing for parents. If this sounds even slightly appealing to you, you may want to consider sending you children to a week or two of summer camp at Joy El. The benefits for them will be as great as the benefits for you.
Registrations are coming in at a very quick pace. You may reserve your week of summer camp now. Learn more at Joy El. You may register on-line, or call 717-369-4539. Activities, friends and fun.
