I recently had the humbling experience to go to Uganda on a missions trip. My oldest daughter and I have run in the Harrisburg Marathon for the past 8 years raising money to allow clean water wells to be dug in India and Uganda. We felt the Lord opening doors for us to see the other side of the race of which we have run. So, we went. We didn’t know what to expect as neither one of us had ever been out of the country. What I saw has left me broken, encouraged and convinced now more than ever that having the privilege of sharing the gospel with public school students each week is vital and life-giving. You see, we spent time in three different schools while in Uganda where Jesus is openly taught and exalted. We worshiped, sang, danced, and prayed with school students like I have never experienced.
While we can’t do what we do on school property, God has given us access to our American students and we MUST take full advantage of it. They need to hear that there is hope. They need to hear the truth of a love that surpasses any and all understanding. They need to hear that they have a heavenly Father who is calling them into a relationship with Him.
They need to hear Jesus! One day every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. After getting a small glimpse of this in a Ugandan school, I want to make sure that I have done all I can to make sure the school students God brings to Bible Adventure and CIA are in that assembly.
