How many years did the Israelites wait for their Messiah to come? Prophecy after prophecy developed great anticipation.
As we work with children in Released Time, at summer camp and in the 4.12 Leadership Training Program, we pray for life- change. We hope that we will see God do amazing things, yet we are often waiting . . . waiting for God to act.
Recently I heard some news that was absolutely thrilling. Gordon, a long-time Released Time volunteer, shared, “What great news! There is a boy I had in CIA a few years ago; he is now a junior in H.S. down in North Carolina. He stays in touch.” Here is what the young man shared:
Hi Mr. Gordon
I just wanted to let you know that on Friday evening during a youth conference at Pigeon Forge I gave my life to the Lord. The Lord told me on Friday morning that something will happen to you and that by the end of the day you will be changed.
Sincerely,
(The students name).
We are reminded in scripture, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9). So let’s continue to, “Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3).
God is at work at Joy El. He is working, immediately and over time. Please pray for children involved in Released Time and CIA to have an increased desire to grow in their faith. Pray that many children will register for summer camp at Joy El Camps and Retreats. There are many options http://www.joyelcamps.org/summer_camps/general-summer-info/welcome-summer-camp.
