Over the summer, I served as a Jumpstart counselor for a boys’ cabin, and there was one camper in particular who was on the fence about believing in Jesus. During our one-on-one conversation, I asked him, “What’s been your favorite part of camp so far?” He was having a good time but didn’t really give me an answer at the time.
Later that night, we had “extended worship,” a time when we give the campers the opportunity to sing more worship songs together. Afterward, we split into our cabin groups for prayer. As we were heading to our group location, this camper pulled me aside and said, “You know how I didn’t know what my favorite part of the week was? Well, I know now—it was this.”
His response was incredibly encouraging to me. He could have chosen any of the fun activities he’d done that week, yet he said worshipping God through song was his favorite.
