Joy El is seeking individuals to fill the following positions: 

Program Director (full-time): Joy El Camps and Retreats is seeking a proven leader to serve as Program Director. This position oversees summer camps and year-round retreat programs.  This individual will have a passion to invest in college students as they minister to campers and develop programs to give children opportunities to encounter God. Equipping Coordinator (part-time): This is a missionary position where the person would invest time relationally connecting, equipping, and recruiting ministry leaders (School Coordinators) to minister to school children in grades 3-8. This would involve training, one-on-one mentoring and providing encouragement to School Coordinators. You would help them plan and implement a growth strategy so that more children can be reached for Jesus Christ (10-40 hours per week, mid-July through April). To download an application, click here:  Apply or email tanya@joyel.org.

Assistant Cook (part-time): This person has experience preparing meals for various sized groups and meeting customers' needs. You should be available to work a flexible schedule. This position is part-time, hourly and approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.

Bus Driver (Volunteer): Joy El has an opportunity to minister to 86 Released Time students from Hooverville and Summitview Elementary Schools.  However, this can only happen if we have a bus driver that would be able to transport the students to and from school.  The time is Wednesdays from 12:20 – 3:30.  Do you have a CDL license with a Passenger Endorsement or know someone who does?  If so, you may be God’s instrument to touch 86 students with the hope of Jesus each week.  Please contact Joy El at info@joyel.org or 717-369-4539. 

Summer Staff Positions - Seasonal

Overnight Activities Coordinator (Leadership Team position) - The purpose of this position is to assist the Program Coordinator in developing and promoting the camp theme, planning and leading all group activities for camp, summarizing all evaluations, overseeing all activity supplies. Overnight Camps are for ages ranging 2nd-12th grade.

Male Head Counselor (Leadership Team position) - The purpose of this position is to be an encourager and facilitator among the male Senior Counselors (High School graduate or older).  Responsibilities include training, mentoring male Counselors, leading daily staff meetings, evaluating program and counselors, etc.

Female Head Counselor (Leadership Team position) - The purpose of this position is to be an encourager and facilitator among the female Senior Counselors (High School graduate or older).  Responsibilities include training, mentoring female Counselors, leading daily staff meetings, evaluating program and counselors, etc.

Male Jr. Staff Coordinator (Leadership Team position)- The purpose of this position is to be an encourager and facilitator among the male junior leaders (High School age) and help them in their relationships with campers, the Senior Counselors and the full-time staff.  Responsibilities include training, mentoring male Junior Counselors, leading daily staff meetings, evaluating program and counselors, etc.

Day Camp Coordinator (Leadership Team position) - This position is designed to lead, guide, and develop the day camp program.  The purpose of this job is to be an encourager and example among the day camp campers and counselors.  Day Camp is for grades K-5th.

Support Staff Coordinator (Leadership Team position) – The purpose of this position is to lead and equip the support staff team, and manage all Onsight facility activity and functionality needs working with the event coordinators. This position involves investment in the support staff team, and working with the supervisors of various support staff positions.

Senior Counselors (male and female) – His/her role is to provide a safe environment for campers to grow spiritually, physically, socially, mentally, and emotionally while exemplifying how all of life is meant to be lived in relationship with God.  (High School graduate and above)

High Adventure/Lifeguard – The purpose of this position is to provide a safe high adventure experience that builds community and relates back to the campers spiritual life.  Assist in lifeguarding duties and rotation.

Lifeguard – The purpose of this position is to maintain the pool and accompanying facilities, care for campers while at the pool, provide basic instruction in swimming, and assist with other activities at camp as needed.

Dining Room Host or Hostess – The purpose of this position is to assist the Food Service Coordinator in serving and preparing all meals, keeping Dining Hall and kitchen clean, supervising work crew members serving in the kitchen area for meals, and assist with other activities at camp as needed.

Canteen and Camp Store Coordinator – The purpose of this position is to provide a service to both the camp and campers.  Responsibilities include stocking, cleaning and supervising open hours for the Camp Store and Canteen (snacks), and assist with other activities at camp as needed.

Maintenance Assistant – The purpose of this position is to assist the Maintenance Coordinator in upkeep of the camp facility.  Responsibilities include lawn mowing, trash removal and minor repairs as needed.  They will help with other activities at camp as needed.

Camping Office Assistant – The purpose of this position is to assist the Camping Ministries Assistant in registration, reception, other office tasks, and assist with other activities at camp as needed.

Released Time Office Assistant – The purpose of this position is to assist the Release Time Assistant in reception, paper work, other office tasks, and assist with other activities at camp as needed.

Assistant Cook – The purpose of this position is to assist the Food Service Coordinator with preparing and serving meals and maintaining a clean and healthy kitchen environment.                                                                                                                                               

Media Specialist – The purpose of this position is to provide quality media that represents Joy El.  Skills include photography and video editing, weekly videos and summer promo video. Position is also responsible for the set-up and operation of sound and projection equipment for chapel sessions, working with visiting chapel speakers to accommodate their media needs. Includes supervision of a media assistant.
