Today’s youth are bombarded with the popular cultural position that there is no absolute truth, that truth can be whatever you personally believe to be true whether anyone else believes it or not. This is called moral relativism. But this is not the position that God takes on truth. In fact, Jesus explained very clearly what and Who truth is.
“‘You are a king, then!’ said Pilate. Jesus answered, ‘You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me,’” John 18:37.
“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free,” John 8:32.
“Jesus answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me,’” John 14:6.
It is possible to know absolute truth when the truth comes from a holy Creator who was willing to step into His own creation to bring truth to humanity. Not only did Jesus, who was and is God, bring us truth, He is the Truth based on his own testimony. But we know that there is a spiritual adversary, Satan, who does not want us to know God’s truth. He works to deceive us and to hide the truth from us. People have not only fallen for his deceit, but they participate in it.
“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen,” Romans 1:25.
“Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them,” Acts 20:30.
Please pray that the children of this generation will see through the deception of Satan and those who propagate his lies. Pray with us that God’s truth will penetrate the hearts of children, opening their eyes to the Person who is Truth—Jesus.
As we minister to students every day, we plant those seeds of truth by teaching children God’s word in Released Time, at camp and in 4.12. Pray that those seeds take root and grow so that a new generation will rise up and worship God in spirit and in truth.
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks,” John 4:23.
Every day, children encounter the Truth in the Released Time Bible Program and Summer Camp. Invite, pray and encourage many children to register for Released Time or a Christian summer camp experience at Joy El Camps and Retreats this summer. Learn about Summer Camp
