By Aaron E. Ziebarth, Executive Director Joy El Camps and Retreat – Joy El Generation
We just concluded one of the most Inspirational weeks in Joy El’s Released Time History. Volunteers gathered in four different locations to gain inspiration and encouragement for the upcoming year. And they were inspired!
One volunteer said, “The speaker was so encouraging – not sure when I was so encouraged to stretch my faith!”
Dr. Tom Yeakley, senior leader with the Navigators (read his Bio here) inspired us to walk by faith. You may watch the whole message here: Dr. Tom Yeakley RT Message
Following is a summary of his message:
God’s favorite phrase – “No problem.”
2 Kings 4:1-7 is the key passage.
There are four stages in this journey of faith.
1) Desperate, helplessness.
Hallsby in his book on prayer shares there are two conditions for answered prayer: 1) helplessness, and 2) faith.
In 2 Corinthians 1:8 Paul was, “Far beyond his ability to endure.” God wants dependent children, not independent children
J.O. Sanders, “God encourages us to ask for the impossible as much as the possible. For to Him, all things are the same, less than himself”
2) A promise
Over 3,000 promises in God’s Word, how many of them are you asking God for?
Promises are anchors for our soul.
Psalm 50:15 “and call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will honor me.”
3) You must act upon the promise.
We often wonder, “How much do you do and how much does God do?”
If you are going to be weird, be weird for Jesus sake – take a public stand for Jesus.
Your faith doesn’t determine how God answers, only what you ask for.
Just keep asking and you will find God amazingly generous.
4) Testify to Others About God’s Answers
All participants were encouraged to develop an impossible prayer list. We are excited to see how God will answer prayers over the next 30 days.
