During Saturday night’s session of the Mother-Daughter Retreat, speaker Nancy Allison gave a very clear Gospel presentation. She asked for a show of hands after giving people the opportunity to pray to receive Christ as their Savior. She then asked mothers and daughters who felt they needed special prayer for deep needs in their lives to also raise their hands. Afterward, she asked all who raised their hands to meet at the back of the worship center. A few of us women split the girls and their mothers into small groups, providing counsel, prayer and follow up for their spiritual decisions. It was a powerful time. Women cried and laid hands on each other as they prayed. A young girl said, “I just want Jesus in my heart!” with her hands clasped over her chest.
Later, I talked with the mother of one of the children who responded to the Gospel message. “My daughter raised her hand tonight!” she said incredulously.
