Recently I was listening to the Focus on the Family radio broadcast and they were discussing what it means to be bold in your faith. When was the last opportunity that you had to be bold?
During the broadcast, one of the students shared that during an open period at school he began leading a Bible study. Over ninety fellow students were attending. At that point the school decided to close it down. I was encouraged to see how God used his boldness, and ultimately the kingdom was expanded. Daily, we are seeing Christianity being pushed into the background. As believers we are encouraged to be bold. Throughout history people have been martyred for their faith. It is highly unlikely that our boldness will lead to death, yet our boldness will be integral to keeping the gospel in front of people.
Scripture provides numerous examples of those who were empowered by God to be bold:
“We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than men! (Acts 5:28-29).
Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 28:31).
Current Opportunity for Boldness:
This week on Thursday, students across America are challenged to Bring Your Bible to school. We are adding Released Time forms so you can invite a friend to Released Time. So please, encourage your Released Time students and all children you know to bring their Bible to school on October 6 and to invite a friend to join them for Released Time. (Here is more information on Bring your Bible to school day). http://www.bringyourbible.org/ Here is a link to the downloadable RT Permission form: http://joyelgeneration.org/sites/default/files/RT%20Elementary%20Brochure%202016-2017.pdf
We are excited to see what God will do Thursday!
