Year after year we see God change children’s lives at summer camp.
Children and youth are bombarded with the enticing message of sin. These messages come in many different shapes and sizes, and many are disguised very well. School, friends, the media, and our government all communicate deceptive messages which trap children into warped thinking. The pleasure and enticement of sin only lasts for a moment, and in the end leaves them wanting, alone, depressed, anxious, and defeated.
There is only one answer which can keep them from leading a meaningless, empty, and isolated life.
The Solution:
We desire to see campers come into a close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. This can happen at camp as children begin a relationship with Jesus Christ, or grow in a deeper and more committed walk with Jesus. Our prayer is that every camper will leave camp with a huge desire to seek God first in their daily lives.
The Theme:
This summer, our entire staff and speakers will be focusing on the Amazing Race. We learn about this race in Hebrews 12:1, “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”
Registrations for this summer are record-breaking. Please pray with us that God will empower the staff to carry out his purposes, and pray that God will bring every camper He desires to Camp Joy El to learn to seek Him.
