This morning I met Tim at 8:30. We met on the street in front of my house by the old Buick. You see, I was selling a car that was well beyond its life. He had the time on his hands to put in the “TLC” that was needed.
After we transferred the title at the notary he drove me back to my house. We talked about our families and he told me about his children. His twin daughters are now 21 years old. “When my twin daughters were in junior high they attended Camp Joy El. It was there that they began a relationship with Jesus Christ. I know their lives would be very different without the Lord.”
He wondered out loud how different their lives would have been if they didn’t meet Jesus at camp.
Not only was this encouraging to me, but it reminded me of how valuable a week of camp can be and the Huge impact it can have on the direction of young people’s lives.
Summer camp is on my mind right now. Next week is our first week of camp. The opportunities for outdoor activities, archery, swimming, the splash ground, canoeing, Go-karts, gaga ball and so much more are just about to begin. Even more important is the life-change that will happen at summer camp!
If you haven’t registered yet, do so now as some weeks are already full. http://www.joyelcamps.org/summer_camps/general-summer-info/welcome-summer-camp
