We have just finished an amazing time of staff and 4.12 training – One hundred and fifteen high school and college students have been digging into God’s Word together, participating in seminars and preparing to see God use them lead children to Jesus!
I am extremely thankful for the leadership of Brittany Lackey (Director of Camping Ministries) and Nate Marshall (Director of the 4.12 Leadership Training Program). Under their direction the summer leadership team (nine very gifted leaders) taught, equipped and prayed with staff so that our summer camp ministry will be highly effective in leading children to and into a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.
The results of their efforts were obvious!
At the final lunch on Sunday, the male senior counselors and summer leadership staff stood in front of all other staff members to make a declaration. Five men shared a summary of their commitment to be spiritual leaders for the summer.
1) We are committing to be spiritual leaders
2) We will be encouraging you
3) We will be opening doors for all ladies
4) We are committing to live authentic lives
5) We are committing to praying for you
Three of these men just graduated from the 4.12 Leadership Training program.
It moved me (and everyone in the room) to see these young men take a courageous stand. It excites me to see how this will impact the greater body of Christ for years to come. The leadership was seen that afternoon when we gathered for our annual Prayer-walk service. It was an inspiring time of seeking the Lord.

1) Summer Camp begins Tuesday, June 16th. Mini-Camp, Adventure Camp 1, and Discovery (Day) Camp 1 all begin then. Pray that campers will meet Jesus.
2) Pray that God will remove obstacles and bring more campers to camp this summer.
3) Pray for my son Josiah and me – we are traveling internationally to equip camp leaders (Thursday June 18 – Saturday, June 27).
4) Pray that God will provide people to financially support Jan Diaz (a Released Time missionary). God is using her to equip leaders and reach many children. There is great potential here.
“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).
