When I think of my school years growing up and the difficulties therein, some of the most influential people during those years were my Christian school teachers.
You see, I was a child that knew Jesus as his Savior, but desperately struggled with seeing myself as a child loved by God. Since I could remember, I had a speech impediment. That caused some major self-esteem and self-worth issues.
I could point back to the godly teachers the Lord put in my life – Mr. Mendenhall, Mr. Richards, Mrs. Glazier, and Sister H – among others. God used these Christian teachers to plant seeds of hope through the use of God’s Word.
Christian teachers have the unique position of ministering to children from all walks of life on a day-to-day basis – what a powerful thing!
Would you join me in prayer for the Christian teachers that are on the front lines every day being the salt and light of Jesus? Pray for courage as they daily face new challenges. Pray that they will be strengthened by other believers and by daily times in God’s Word. Pray that they would faithfully continue the work that God has called them to.
