We live in a world that deals with natural disasters, terrorism, political upheaval, division on social media and more. I recently came across a blog by Margaret Feinberg, 7 Ways to Fill the World with Joy Today. I was encouraged by the practical suggestions.
The name “Camp Joy El” came from the children who would be attending camp in 1974. The children were asked what the name should be. A strong majority wanted the word “Joy” as part of the name. Many also felt that “God” should be a part of the name. Noting that the word “El” is another name for God, it was placed with “joy” and the name “Joy-El” was born. A theme verse became Nehemiah 8:10b—”For the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
Nehemiah 8:10b Nehemiah said, “Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”
May the Joy of the Lord be your strength today!
