Director of the 4.12 Leadership Training Program
4.12 students are regularly challenged to serve their community and those in need. Despite the change, fear, and hopelessness that many have experienced during the recent months, students in the 4.12 Leadership Training Program decided to help spread hope of Christ this Christmas season.
A local ministry, Fruitbelt Farmworker’s Christian Ministry (FFCM), shared with us the physical needs of hundreds of local migrant worker families. Once students heard this need, they responded by collecting bags of items to donate.
Once the items were collected, the Director of FFCM, Pastor Christian Aguilar, arrived to load the items. He was thrilled to see the van load of blankets, personal hygiene items, and cold-weather gear. He was very grateful for the students’ generosity. He knows how much of a blessing these items will be to those involved in their ministry!
As I saw the items come in, the joyful spirit of the students, and Pastor Christian’s gratitude I was reminded of the words of Paul in 2 Corinthians 9:12, “This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.”
I am grateful for the opportunities students have to put their faith into action. God is at work in the lives of 4.12 students and those in the community!
