As 2017 drew to a close, I took time to reflect on ways God has worked in the past months. Serving in full-time ministry as a full-time missionary, there are always ample opportunities to live and walk by faith in God’s promises (as I am sure you can relate).
We often think about claiming God’s promises in the “big things” in life – who to marry, which career path to follow, buying versus renting, etc. What about in the everyday, “little things” life has for us? This is something God has been convicting me in. “Nate, you trust me and want to claim my promises when something “big” is about to happen, but what about the everyday things?”
As this year draws to a close, I can reflect on how God has fulfilled his word (in “big” and “little” things!) through the apostle Paul to the Corinthians in 2 Corinthians 9, “Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can been generous in every occasion…” (v.10-11a).
God again provided for my position at Joy El this past year. I am excited to see how He will provide this next year. I pray that this New Year for you is filled with hope and trust in who God says He is and what He promises to do!
