Mark 16:15 “He said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” When I shared this verse and challenged a group of 15 Bible Adventure students on opening day to be missionaries, I never realized how seriously they would take this challenge. In fact, most of the students said they didn’t know what a “missionary” was and for many it was their first time ever hearing the word. As I shared the definition, I told them I had a very big job for them and asked if they thought they were up to the task. Every hand in the room raised up, as they insisted they were ready to accept my challenge of inviting their friends and classmates to attend Bible Adventure with them. Evidence of their sincerity and commitment appeared the following week. Imagine my surprise when the group of 15 students grew to 47 students!
I could never share all the things I see God doing – big and little – in the lives of the children in Bible Adventure (BA) and Christians In Action (CIA) as there are so many.
I learned of a student in another BA who sat excitedly ready to learn. As the teacher spoke about the Bible, the student proclaimed that she didn’t have a Bible. While the teacher continued to speak, a listener slipped a Bible into her hands. She couldn’t stop smiling. As the teacher explained the 66 books of the Bible, the student kept touching the table of contents page. The teacher mentioned how it is easier to carry one Bible than it is to carry 66 books. When class ended, the student struggled to put her backpack on her back. The teacher asked if she needed help, to which the student grinned broadly and said, “Nope. Just trying to put these 66 books on my back is hard.”
Praise God for how He is working!
