Life to life for life is a phrase that is often used here at Joy El Camps and Retreats. Our vision is about making disciples of Jesus Christ who will go out and expand God’s kingdom around the world. This is the idea of spiritual multiplication. When one life is impacted here at Joy El Camps and Retreats, it is our prayer and desire that that person would turn around and pass on what God has taught and shown them.
Throughout my years of involvement in Christian camping here at Joy El, I’ve been a camper, a 4.12 Leadership Training student, a camp counselor, a Summer Leadership Team member, and now I am on the year-round staff. All of these roles have given me opportunities to see spiritual multiplication happen first hand from various perspectives. I’ve gotten to see people move from campers being poured into themselves, to members of our 4.12 Leadership Training Program learning how to share about Jesus with others, and then to senior counselors during the summer with campers of their own. Some of them even go on to become leaders on our summer leadership team who then invest into others on the summer staff. The impact and outreach that they have had on others’ lives is amazing, and it all started when they first came here as a camper!
I’m so excited for the campers that will be arriving this summer! Some of them will be experiencing the love of Jesus for the first time, others will grow and develop in their wal k with Him. It is so exciting to imagine all the lives that will be impacted in the future due to one summer at camp. Let the spiritual multiplication begin!
