Over this past summer there have been some amazing ways that the 4.12 Jr. Staff guys have been able to serve. Recently there was a need for a Summer Assistant Cook and Peter, pictured below, was eager to step in and help in this capacity. He has been excited to bake brownies, cookies, and many meals to help campers be able to eat while at camp. Peter has really shown leadership in taking on new responsibilities in the kitchen. He enjoys baking cookies and giving them to different staff members to try. He has been able to work in a way that honors the Lord and helps provides meals for hundreds of campers throughout the week. Isaiah 58:10 says, “And if you give yourself to the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then your light will rise in darkness and your gloom will become like midday.”
Peter, along with many other students, has been able to provide physical food for campers, offering them the nourishment they need to keep their physical bodies cared for while at camp. The greater opportunity that happens is through providing the physical needs it opens the ability to reach each child’s heart and soul for the Gospel.
Just as we read in Isaiah, it is our great privilege to give ourselves to the hungry, physically, and spiritually, the light of the Lord shines forth through us providing the hope of the Gospel through the powerful demonstration of hospitality.
This couldn’t happen without you! Please keep praying for all staff and volunteers to develop as Peter has over this summer.
