Stephen Jacobs
Food Service & Maintenance
Stephen’s journey with Joy El began at nine years old when his mom sent him to a homeschool retreat, and from that moment, he loved camp! He would continue through elementary years as a camper at retreats and summer camp. Then he would join the 4.12 Program in 8th grade. While in the 4.12 program Stephen served in many different roles at the camping programs, and most recently as a Summer Camp Senior Staff in 2025.
He is most excited about continuing to serve in the ministry at Joy El and contributing any way possible to ensure we continue providing opportunities for people to experience life-change through personal encounters with God.
Stephen lives in Berkeley Springs, WV with his parents and older brother. He is a high school graduate with a full year of college completed as well due to his hard work in the dual enrollment program with Hagerstown Community College. Stephen enjoys cooking as a hobby and working on a go-kart rebuild project with his dad.
Hebrews 4: 14-16 is a favorite part of scripture for Stephen because it reminds him that even though Christ is perfect and sinless, he was a man that faced what we face, and because he is our close, personal connection with God, we can become like him.
Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
